FREE PATTERN: Verde Quilt

I am happy to share with you a free to use design I did for Quilting Treasures using their newly released Verde collection:

High Res_Verde Quilt

I was tasked with coming up with something a bit more contemporary with the really fresh looking fabrics from the Verde collection.  So, I went for the “text box” look to reflect the texting culture of our world, thus the “…” at the end of the text boxes.  [Side note: Even Miss Baby would ask me to “text an email” to her teacher to tell her teacher something!  I think sometimes I forget just how pervasive texting is in our daily life.  I am an absolute minimalist when it comes to texting, and yet my 5 year old knows about texting!]

Bamboos are currently vogue in our culture, as in bamboo batting in the world of quilting.  So, I went to the traditional Oriental bamboo frames (like the one shown below) for inspiration to frame the blocks, bringing the traditional to be relevant (somewhat!) even our texting culture. :)

I hope you like my Verde quilt design.  I can see each text box personalized in your version.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please allow me to thank you for your well wishing comments.  I am feeling much better, and just need to get back to the swing of things related to work.

I shall catch up with you later!

  1. So happy to ‘hear’ you’re on the mend!!! Maintaining any type of a work schedule with this winter weather presents many challenges…add to it the juggling of family and ‘life’. Interesting pattern and so perfect for the mod trend!!!! Hugs…….SSAB

  2. Happy that you are feeling better….

I detected a bit of modern with this quilt before I read your post. I do like the wide open negative space that lends itself to some beautiful quilting. Think that I will add it to my “to do” list. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Love this fabric line, Wendy! All those leaves and lots of green–I might have to search this out. Will we get to see a completed quilt of this pattern? I’d love to see what you do with the quilting.

  4. I really like the crispness of the green against the white background. I found myself drawn to various green shades today while shop hopping with some “bee” friends. Must be the decidedly springtime weather we are having in Houston this week! Glad to hear you are on the mend!
