Good morning, Friends! I hope you are doing well. Let’s kick off a new week with a free downloadable pattern, shall we?
The block construction is for a more advanced piecer – as piecing is not as straightforward as piecing done normally for certain parts. But it is definitely NOT impossible. You can believe me on that because I am not that great of a piecer myself. So if little old me can do it, anyone can!! And when you successfully complete a block, you will feel like you are worth a million bucks! I certainly felt that way, even if the feeling only lasted 10 seconds before I was forced to come back down to earth. ;)
Clear instructions are given to construct a block quadrant that you just keep repeating until you have enough quadrants to construct all the blocks. Truly, even if you don’t make the entire quilt – just complete one block will build confidence in your piecing skill!
The fabrics used are from Quilting Treasures’ Masquerade collection. Quilting Treasures’ description on their website about this fabric collection: “This is our 2nd collection from The Phantom of the Opera, the longest running Broadway show of all times. The main focus is masquerade, with beautifully detailed masks and perfect feather coordinates. The color palette of green, purple and gold is a nice fit for Mardi Gras celebrations too.” Click here to view the full ranges of fabrics.

p.s. I also designed a quilt to go with Quilting Treasures’ first Phantom of the Opera fabric line. Click here to view the quilt and download the pattern.
Beautiful design Wendy. Thanks for the link to a free pattern for your design too!

That is really a beautiful block!! Is it paper pieced?
Wow – gorgeous design! And the block would certainly be a challenge. I think I’m glad I have too much on my plate to even consider it! LOL!!!
This is a gorgeous piece of work that you have done. I love the colors and the design is fabulous! Thanks for sharing and the free pattern. I really don’t think I am there yet but I have printed this so I have it in my file. Have a wonderful blessed week. Carol
I love the jewel look to the blocks. It would make a great Mardi Gras quilt too. Thanks for the download, Wendy.
