Would you take a quick stroll with me around the neighborhood?
These are new since we took our last walk:
My progress on the gameboard sampler hasn’t been as substantial as I would have liked, but I have been working on getting dozens of these sent out:
Have a great day, everyone!
Hello Everyone, I hope you have had a good start to your week. Mine is crazy, but I remain thankful that I am able to enjoy moments of quietness and sanity. I was able to do some stitching last night, and was pleased with the progress (you may see my last progress report here):
I didn’t get to finish this square in time for the blog pictures — care to guess what this might be?
Have a great day, everyone!
(p.s. I will just tell you, it’s supposed to be a bird!)
Hello Everyone, I haven’t been able to blog for the last couple of weeks. I hope you are doing well. I hope to catch up with you in blogland very soon. Thank you for all the comments you have left. Please be sure that I will respond to each of you.
Meanwhile, I thought I would show you the progress on my Sampler Gameboard by The Drawn Thread. The neighborhood is really shaping up!
Have a Happy Monday, Everyone!
Happy Monday, Everyone. I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas week and weekend.
The neighborhood is starting to “fill out” a little more. A new house is completed (bottom right), and one is in the process of going up (top middle). I am pleased to announce that even though a pet lion roams the streets, this neighborhood actually does have normal creatures — a bird and a butterfly!
Thanks for stopping by! I will chat with you again tomorrow.
This was meant to be my Monday post, but time just dashed by me while I was taking care of a few other things. So, I am a little late…
But nothing much has been happening around the “neighborhood”. I got a few accents stitched for the Sampler Gameboard:
This neighborhood is full of botanical wonders, except it could be a bit scary when someone’s pet lion runs loose :)
I hope you had a great Monday. I have been busy decorating for Christmas over the weekend. I will show you snippets of my labor between now and Christmas. Meanwhile, have a superb week!
Since I went back to working on meeting deadlines for the quilt magazines, I have experienced a construction slump on my “McMansions”. I did manage to add two more houses in the neighborhood. While I was at it, I also found some acorns around the neighborhood:
This is my overall progress so far:
Not much is going on at my end. I am currently working on getting the collars of the baby daygown finished. Will show pictures when I do get them attached to the gown. Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!
I started stitching the Sampler Game Board by The Drawn Thread while I was busy getting things ready for Thanksgiving. This pattern features 32 salt box type Colonial houses which I have affectionately nicknamed “McMansions”. [For those who aren’t from America, the term “McMansions” was coined for “cookie cutter” mega big houses (i.e., mansions) that had been built during the construction boom. Often time, they are packed into subdivisions with not much extra land to speak of.]
This is a highly addictive project. First of all, it is just so cute and whimsical. Each square you see is only about 1 1/4″ inches. And second of all, one doesn’t have to stitch for ages to see the picture emerge. So, I have been totally charmed by these McMansions.
Which “mansion” would you like to claim as yours? Also, I would love to hear from you if you happen to be working on this project as well.
p.s. We got our first snow of the year on Sunday! Despite the cold, I did like to watch the flurrying flurries! And now that the Thanksgiving weekend is over, it’s back to the REAL world and REAL work for me where deadlines rule! I wish you a wonderful and productive week!!
