Apple of My Eye in LOVE THOSE PRECUTS by Annie’s

Hello Friends!  I had shown you last summer sneak peeks of a quilt I was making using Riley Blake’s Apple of My Eye fat quarters!

I am happy I can finally show you “Apple of My Eye” in its entirety!  It is featured in “Love Those Precuts“, a newly released Annie’s quilt pattern book.

Apple of My Eye

This was a fun, easy and quick quilt to make.   I thought the snowball blocks made cute sashing accents among the fabric squares.

The publisher creatively styled the quilt as a child’s bed quilt.  I think it can also be used as a table topper for a spring whimsical themed tea party.

Here, you can see I have styled the quilt to go with more serious props.  I quickly stole a few minutes from work to set out my props while Miss Baby was resting!  If you had followed me in my early Ivory Spring days, you would know that I used to style my quilts with tableware A LOT more, and always enjoyed it.  Life is just a little bit more complicated for me to play with my dishes now compared to my pre-Miss Baby era.

The quilting was accomplished with my usual partners in creativity – Aurifil Mako 50 Cotton thread over Hobbs Tuscany Silk batting.

The quilting motif was inspired by the paisley print on the border fabric.  You can see it better from this picture of the quilt back, and a close up of the fabric print.  I have posted the stitching path of this motif in a Thread Talk post here.

Here is the question of the day – what dishes (or props) would you use from your stash to go with “Apple of My Eye”?  I would personally like to look in Ellen and Mrs. Magpie‘s stashes to see what else would go with the quilt. ;)

Thanks for stopping by – it’s back to work I go!!

Charmed: Final Sneak Peeks

Hello Friends, I didn’t get to edit the pictures of the mentioned magazine featured project as intended!  So I am re-scheduling that post for next week. Besides the craziness, I managed to finish and ship out my Charmed quilt in three days.  I haven’t been that quick in a long while.  Here are a couple of final peeks before I can show the entire quilt to you in full sometime next year (I think!)…

Quilting is light-hearted.  Somehow I just can’t see feather plumes on this quilt.  I tried out a swirly leaf/petal combo.

Anyone out there interested in a schematic of my new-fangled leaf petal quilting motif combo plus fillers?  Please raise your hands.

That’s it for this week.  I am utterly exhausted, but there’s no rest for the weary… I still have quite a bit of work to do for the rest of the week.  Now, you go and have a lovely week on my account since I will still be catching up on some work.  Till next week.  Hugs to you all.

Charmed: Sneak Peek #1

Hello Friends,

I hope you are doing well.  I appreciate you sharing about your favorite desserts in yesterday’s post.  There are a few of your favorites that I have never had before… so, I definitely learned something new from your comments.

I told you I was going to play with these sweet fabrics from Apple of My Eye by Riley Blake.

Here is a sneak peek for you:

I have only recently started working with Riley Blake’s fabrics, and have found their fabrics to be delightfully cheerful and happy!  I have a couple of upcoming quilts that are going to be using more Riley Blake’s fabrics.  Stay tuned!

Curious Me wants to know if you have ever use Riley Blake’s fabrics in your quilts.   Pray tell.

Thanks for stopping by – it’s super busy over at my end.  I’d better fly for now!
