Happy Monday, Friends! I am still here — I have just been extremely busy. But I am doing well. I am happy to share with you my latest magazine cover quilt, All In Knots, featured in the Summer 2015 issue of Fons and Porter’s Easy Quilts!
I loved making All In Knots because the design gives the illusion (and it’s really just that, illusion) of knots without the work of making the knots. Piecing is straightforward, and the blocks are pretty quick to make.
I used Pat Sloan‘s The Sweet Life fabrics to make All In Knots. I really like the colors of this line. If you recall, The Sweet Life has this amazing word print fabric that has the word “cake”! I am not into sweets, but I have to say cakes are definitely my “sweets” downfall!
Here are a few more photos of All In Knots. I like the airy feel of made by the knots – perfect for a quilt on an outdoor bench in the summer evenings.
Or as a topper for an outdoor table setting…
You may purchase a quilt kit to replicate the exact quilt here.
I used Aurifil‘s Mako 50 Cotton thread to construct and to quilt the quilt! The batting used is Hobbs Tuscany Silk. My quilts always love this combination, and I didn’t hear any complaints from the fibers! :)
Here you see a peek of the quilting – it is simple swirls that give a bit of nice texture to a sweet and simple pieced quilt.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you liked seeing All In Knots. Have a lovely week! I shall check in with you later when I can…. I shall disappear for a bit, but not being telling you I love you all! So, what is on your plate this week?
