COVER QUILT ALERT: Close Quarters in American Patchwork & Quilting (Jan/Feb 2017) & Giveaway

Happy Monday, Friends!  I hope you are doing well.  I just heard from the news that it will be a cold one for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere.  Do bundle up and stay warm… and stay in Close Quarters.  *wink*

You see, that house quilt on the cover of the latest Jan/Feb 2017 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting is named Close Quarters – and it is MINE! :)  I am so happy to make cover on American Patchwork & Quilting – my first by the way.  So, it is extra special.  Here are a few pictures I took when the quilt was still work-in-progress.

This quilt is a very different from my usual quilts in that it is constructed entirely with solids.  I used RJR Fabrics‘ Cotton Supreme solids to achieve an updated Amish look.  It is basically a one block wonder quilt.  All the houses are the same, made interesting by the different fabrics used.  Full instructions are published in American Patchwork & Quilting Jan/Feb 2017 issue.

I envisioned this quilt to be a home decor quilt.  I am so thrilled to see how Close Quarters was styled for photography by the amazing team at American Patchwork & Quilting.

Incidentally, I have also used RJR’s solid fabrics to make a mini house quilt.  Click here to read more about the mini, and where to find the instructions.

So you can see that RJR’s Cotton Supreme solids are my go-to solids! :)
