I will do closeup pictures of Simple Pleasures and Bluebird Ballad next week. I have already posted about “Cozy Patch” last week.

Meanwhile, I am going to work on finishing another quilt — and then, I still have to get things ready for dinner! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Cozy Patch

A wonderful Wednesday to you! This is now safely returned to me:

spring-cozy

I have initially named this quilt “Spring Cozy”, but the editorial staff at “The Quilter” renamed the project “Cozy Patch” for their May Issue magazine. I think “Cozy Patch” is a much cozier name (that’s why I am not an editor!):

I am pleased with the sweet and soft look of the quilt – perfect to go with all things feminine:

Who could resist these scrumptious floral prints? And the baby sky blue paisleys?!

Gotta run – I will catch up with you later!

Bigger and bigger…

Happy Monday, Everyone! I hope you had a good weekend. Despite the hectic schedule, I managed to steal a few minutes away with my husband admiring the glorious fall foliage in northwest Arkansas. I had found this absolutely beautiful tree a few days ago, but by the time I was able to show it to my husband yesterday, it had lost some of its glory, and wasn’t as pretty as the one he found yesterday.

I managed to finish the third of my four PRESSING deadlines, and “Spring Cozy” is ready to head out the door:

I went straight to working on these fabrics:

I thought “Spring Cozy” was a big quilt. The finished size was about 76″ x 76″ — these building blocks will be used to make a 94″ x 94″ quilt — something I have not done in my quilting life. It will be interesting!!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope your week goes well for you. I will get to all your comments left over the weekend – I haven’t forgotten about you! :)

From these to this…

From these…

… to this – this will be the last sneak preview of this quilt before it is officially featured in “The Quilter” in January 2009:

I am still thinking about exactly how to quilt it. Meanwhile, I started the piecing on a new quilt. I hadn’t known how the blue would work, but I think this unique shade of blue has worked out well so far!

Quilts, quilts, and more quilts – just like the rain, rain and more rain we have had over here for the past two days. I am not complaining except the cooler weather mixed in with the rain makes me want to do nothing but just curl up in bed with a book. :)

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone. Till next time!
