Hello Friends, I hope you have had a good weekend sewing along! I love hearing that you have liked the pattern. Sometimes it’s nice to just sew something simple, isn’t it?
Here is my quilt top completed… and I will working on pattern writing for the rest of the day. I will share with you a picture of the quilt once it is quilter, bound, and COMPLETED!

I hope you have had a good day sewing on and off. My sewalong quilt is finished. I am making the binding strip to get it ready for when the quilt is quilted.
Here is Joyce’s progress picture. I am loving her soft palette, and that she made hers into a rectangular quilt!

So far it would look like the charm packs or the kits are sold out, but I did find that Bear Creek Quilting has FQ bundles and yardages HERE.

My personal chef came through for me! Dinner was enjoyed by all. I opted out of the option of having the meat wrapped in tortillas. So this was my plate.
You may choose to organize/sort your squares by pairs – you would need a total od 36 squares or (18) pairs of 2 squares.
The convention in making a 4″ finished HST unit is that you would cut your starting squares at 4 7/8″. The nice thing about using charm squares to make HST units is that you get that extra 1/8″ because charm squares are 5″. I like to make my HST units LARGER and then trim to size. So, my trick of also ensuring I have more than enough to trim off is that I scooch my squares in such a way that that I am not sewing at exactly 1/4″ from each side of the drawn line. By doing that, I don’t have an exact 1/4″ seam allowance on the HST units, but that’s okay…. because that way, when I cut along the drawn line, and open up the units, I have even more wriggle room for squaring up and trimming. I’d much rather has a HST unit that is a perfect square!

You are sew right – Life! I’ve had it on my calendar since you first mentioned it but other people have made plans on these dates that include me. I am putting dinner in the crockpot but the sewing part will just happen when it does, in the usual manner. I’m fortunate to have a lot of time designated for sewing, anyway.
Karen, I was just sharing with someone that this quilt can probably be done from start to finish in 5 hours or less. Just sew when you can! Or you can always catch up next week, hahaha! LIFE really does happen! Have a great weekend.
Definitely less than five hours! This pattern goes together so quickly. I finished my first one this evening and will be making more to stockpile gifts to have on hand.
I’m gettin’ ready. Tidying up my sewing space from yesterday’s stitching. Gonna do a bit of prepping and then I’m good to go!! 😊🪡🧵✂️

Used my crock pot yesterday to cook smoked ham hocks and pinto beans. My DH made cornbread and fried some taters. I’m still finishing another project, so I’m not starting a new one this weekend. But I’m following along with your sew along because I enjoy seeing everything you create! Happy stitching!
