Hello Friends, it’s time to sing and sew This Little Light again!

If you are just now hearing about this, the details are HERE – be sure to scroll down in that post to see the color options, as well as layout options if you don’t want to make all 9 blocks.

Truly, time does go fast, doesn’t it? If you are following/sewing along This Little Light, we are on our last step in making our blocks today. It’s quite exciting.

I have a confession – last time I told you I couldn’t stop making the blocks. I actually got so excited seeing the completed blocks come together, and actually already finished the top.

The top is being quilted as we speak. Here is a screenshot of the texts exchanged between my quilter Darlene and myself yesterday.

If you are sewing along, please use #thislittlelightSAL when sharing your quilt pictures on social media.

Pattern & Kits

I am using Moda’s Poinsettia Plaza fabrics to make my quilt.

Today’s assignment is to make the tails of the bow units – and then you will be able to sew all the units to complete your blocks! As I said, it’s VERY exciting!

Tips & Thoughts for today’s units:

#1. The tips I shared last week in making the bow loops and having all the points come out right still work. Be sure to read last week’s tips if you haven’t.

#2. Again, when working with small units – be patient and slow, cut accurately, and press with a dry iron!

#3. Also, for the tail units, I found that pressing the fabrics in the opposite directions for those two identical stripe units used in the tail unit helped cut down the bulk.

And that’s it for today. Happy sewing, and let’s meet again on 12/1 for our final part. I think (hope) I will have the completed quilt to show you! This Little Light is going down as one of the favorite projects I have made in 2022, and I have made close to 40?! this year alone.
