  1. I love the fabric. It would be great for a collage-type wall art quilt! I just finished a small quilt for my grandson’s teddy bear 😊, and started a twin size for my youngest granddaughter using novelty fabrics. Thanks for sharing!

    • In addition to several quilts I’ve been making bucket hats this summer! I can’t stop – they are so cute!!

  2. I finished two quilt tops, and was working on UFOs until I broke my foot! Now I’m just playing with small handwork until I can stop elevating my foot. Lesson learned…ALWAYS have an interesting hand work project ready!

The Scissors and Spools quilt is so perfect in Pat’s fabric! I love the strawberry design, too, but those spools make me so happy!

  3. I have been dealing with health issues most of the summer so far! However a small group of women meet once a week for some hand sewing(whatever you want to do) and I have been working on a cross stitch that I purchased last year… also we have a new baby girl in our family and the quilt is at the longarmer being quilted and is ready to pick up for binding to be done. We will meet the new little girl in August at a small baby shower

  4. I have been working on a surprise Oh My Stars quilt made out of glow-in-the-dark space fabric for my want-to-be astronaut daughter. Working mostly early and late so she doesn’t see. She’s going to camp this week, so I hope to get it finished before we pick her up on Friday.

  5. Love the spools and scissors quilt! So cute!! I am working on 4 t shirt quilts and trying to catch up on some quilt alongs and making some blocks for a swap at my LQS! ❤️

  6. We have just moved so I haven’t had much time for sewing, but I have managed to get the top done for a mystery quilt with my quilt guild. Hopefully I can start sewing again soon.

  7. Good morning. I’ve been productive this summer making quilts for friends and a co-worker who will be retiring next week. Quilts have been simple but colorful. Thanks for the giveaway. Wendy, I am inspired by your designs.

  8. I just finished the quilting on Pat’s Sweet Dreams and am ready to quilt my scrappy Birdie quilt. I’m also conquering mount scrapmore.

  9. I have been sewing together my fabric scraps to make made fabric in blocks about the size of a fat quarter. I have divided my fabrics into color groups and have 19 blue fat quarters and 12 red fat quarters and the other colors in varying numbers to add up to a total of 39. I am now working on all the whites/lights to use as backgrounds.

  10. I spend most of my sewing time on scrappy comfort quilts for my church quilt group. I am also trying to use my Accuquilt Qube dies more with my scraps. Thanks for sharing. Especially love the strawberries and look forward to the Sew Along.

  11. I have several irons in the fire this summer. Summer began with following grandkids in the ball playing activities. This week has brought their 4-H projects to an end with our County Fair. I have been working through my WIPs from last year and have one more quilt to finish. I am also piecing together a Great Granny Squared quilt, mostly using blocks I’ve had my grandkids design. Last week I started piecing a Christmas quilt – I’ve had the fabric since I began quilting two years ago and decided it was time to get it made. My summer has been full of doing things I love!

  12. I’ve been playing catch-up with ufo’s and a 4th of July wall hanging. Moving on to quilt my National Parks quilt… Love the spools and scissors.

  13. I am still working on the Stringbeans QAL Pat did, the Layer Cake Lotto from FQS and the Beautiful Day QAL with Corey Yoder. As a beginner, I make lots of mistakes I have to fix. But it is fun. Love your quilts and 2 cents worth!

  14. I’m working on Pat Sloan quilts :Boo Crew and Summer Camp. I’m making a Coriander Quilts mystery quilt. and I am finishing up a table cloth quilt . (Almost a little too busy!)

  15. I love the bird song “fabric and would love to win. I think I would make your scissors in spool quilt. “it is so cute

  16. Cute quilt! I am currently working on samples for a local quilt shop along with my various projects with Pat Sloan! Have my pattern and am looking forward to Just Add Shortcake so I need to get caught up on my other stragglers this weekend.

  17. I love your quilts! I use the summer to catch-up and try to finish projects since I am a teacher and the school year gets hectic! I just finished the top of “Circle Game” by Jen Kingwell. I’m ready to start a new project, even though I still have several to finish! LOL – I can’t help myself!

  18. I have been making an ocean waves quilt out of scraps. The top is finally finished! Your elephant stomp quilt is on my list for later this year with Kaffes and grunges.

  19. This summer sewing has been minimal since we are under construction. I have been mostly doing little hand stitchery projects that will one day be added to small quilts, used as labels on quilts or framed for gift giving. I have made 1 quilt top and 1 table topper but that’s it.

  20. I am trying to finish up a large quilt this Summer, but I just finished a tote bag for a Christmas gift and a Christmas wall hanging. I just started a sweet little embroidered pincushion for a birthday present in Sept. I just love your patterns!

  21. I have been working on a queen sized quilt for my granddaughter and her fiancee who are getting married on Oct. 8.

  22. I have been working on bags and wall hangings which are smaller quilts. I love your quilts with the Birdsong fabric.

  23. Love your quilts! I have made 2 quilts this summer and have already gifted them. One was for my close friend since elementary school, who’s Mother passed away this spring. After going through her Mom’s sewing items, she gave me her cottons. In her Mother’s stash were over 600 5” blocks out of gorgeous vintage prints. So, of course, I had to make my friend a quilt with some of them and gave it to her for her birthday! ❤️ The other quilt is for our pastor and wife’s new baby. I am working on #3 quilt for my great niece.

  24. I have been making baby quilts to practice new blocks. They are small and easy to maneuver so they are great for practicing. And every time my daughters need a baby shower gift they have a pile to choose from!

I have to say that your shortcake pattern is my absolute favorite!

  25. Love your patterns, Wendy! I have been finishing up some UFOs and WIPs this summer plus planning some fall /winter projects.

  26. I just Love the bird Song fabric…Wendy you do such amazing work…Love the patterns you chose for the fabric line…Can’t wait to do the strawberry pattern…Have been working in the Won’t you be my Neighbor Quilt …Along with a Project on the Embroidery Machine💞🧵🧵💞

  27. I have been sewing quilts for five of my grandchildren and will be super happy when my next project is no bigger than a placemat!

  28. I’ve so enjoyed seeing these scissors and spools coming together. Pat’s fabric is beautiful. You are right. That is a great background fabric. My stitching time has been spent making flower girl dresses and a Christmas stocking for the newest grandbaby.

  29. I have been finishing some projects – I ‘ve finished three UFOs and quilted another and at the hand sewing the binding stage. I’ve also been finishing a mystery quilt from my Guild (assembling the top stage) and working on a Guild summer challenge (top pieced and now doing some embroidery on it) and Pat Sloan’s Summer Camp mystery quilt.

  30. I am currently working on some Lori Holt cross stitch, Moda’s Midnight Moon sew along with Pat Sloan, and FQS and Lori Holt’s Great Granny Squared sew along. Very shortly I will be starting your Just Add Shortcake pattern. Love it!!!!

  31. Just finished a wall hanging of half inch hexagon showing the UK and Ireland that I designed myself with over two thousand hexagons. Time for something a little less intense!

  32. I’ve been sewing Pat’s Summer Camp and a scrap quilt. Also finished quilting Pat’s Quilters Stand for Ukraine quilt.

  33. I have been working on Pat Sloan’s summer camp quilt along. And also a baby quilt for my best friend’s granddaughter.

  34. I’ve been working with my 9 year old granddaughter this summer. She has just finished piecing her first quilt. We are now ready for her to quilt it. She wants to give it to a friend who has moved.

  35. Such a cute quilt Wendy and it showcases Pat Sloans newest fabric line perfectly. This summer is for building so had to put away my sewing for now but come the Fall season I hope to have my new sewing space set up again.

  36. I am hand sewing and plan to start Pat Sloan’s summer camp soon. Loved the spools and scissors…might consider doing that one too.

  37. Especially love your spools with scissors quilt! It really allows all those different fabrics to shine. This summer I have focused on baby quilts, with three new nephews and a niece making their entrance into the family. Also working slowly on a rainbow quilt from Pat Sloan’s collection.

  38. I love your Strawberries and Spools quilts – they just seem perfect for a door quilt. When my mom was in Assisted Living, she would decorate her door with seasonal wreaths and (once I got organized) narrow quilts. She would have loved having a quilt with three strawberries in a row for her June quilt. I might take two individual Spool blocks and make a bag to carry to our quilt guild meetings.

  39. Your scissor & spool quilt is adorable and so is the strawberery quilt. Both really show off Pat’s birdsong fabric. I made a quilt for my niece who fosters dogs and now I’m working on a QOV project and trying to quilt a charity quilt for my guild.

  40. I had 2 baby quilts to make. Now I am starting on Fat Quarters shop Jelly Roll Sizzle as a gift for friends who are caring for their mother.

  41. Hello! Thank you for the beautiful Bird Song ideas! I am working on Missouri Star Quilting Co. BOM Tis the Season Christmas Tree quilt. It is so fun to be part of a group once in awhile :)

  42. I’m making a wall hanging with Bird Song! Lovin’ this line! I would also like to make a quilt to go with it. I have several projects going. Another is the Secret Lives of Color. What a fun project.

  43. I have been working on an EPP QAL- Homage to Grandmother’s flower garden, a monthly cross stitch, the boo crew mystery QAL and cross stitch, and Pat’s QAL summer camp.

  44. This has been a summer of not sewing at all and I am going crazy!!! My sewing room got packed in March when we prepared the house for sale. The house sold, we bought a new one and moved. All of my stuff is now in TN at the new house. I am in CT while I finish up the sale of my business. I’ll finally be at the new house in early August. By the time I get to sew again it will have been about five months since I sat at my sewing machine.

  45. This summer I’ve been working on finishing Pat Sloan’s Sweet Dreams (since I’m a hand quilter, it takes a long time). About to put on the bindings and found your delightful post on bindings.

  46. I’ve made 2 quilt tops but mostly I have been working on some cross stitch when my eyes permit. Had some surgery done in both eyes (one at a time) over the last few months, so haven’t gotten a lot accomplished.

  47. I have made a flag quilt, Hello birdie, and working on Secret. Lives of Color. I started Boo Crew and going to do something with the Birdsong panel. I really want to make the strawberry quilt!

    • I have decided that everyone in my family is getting a quilt- it’s a tall order since I have a very large family. So I have been working on a lot of different quilts this summer

  48. I’ve been working on a lot of various projects this Summer – window screen mesh beach bag; bucket hats; keeping up with block of the month Vintage Jewel quilt (Month #7 just finished); sewing machine covers using my embroidery machine; monthly Kimberbell Digital Dealer Exclusives; charity sewing angel gowns, pet beds, NICU qulits; serger projects and more, more, more! Your spool and scissors quilt is adorable! What a talented designer you are! Thank you for your blog! Happy Sewing!

  49. Oh I’ve been sewing everyday. Boo crew out of my stash. Going to start piano key border today for Secret Lives of Colour. I feel like with several other projects I’m worming on, one could say, a quilter on steroids. 😂 I love you quilt projects with the Bird Song fabric. I’d !one to make several of them inc!using Strawberry Quilt.

  50. I have been working on small projects as well as sew along. I a few ufo that I am also focusing on to complete before end of the year.

  51. I have not gotten much sewing done this summer, we have 2 large vegetable gardens so all my time is either doing my daily chores and working in the gardens along with keeping the yard and flower gardens pretty! Not complaining, I have enjoyed being outside. I did have a rain day so I had a few of my grandchildren over, one made a pillow case and the other 2 have begun a reading pillow. They are enjoying the opportunity to use my sewing machine! Next is to schedule another day to finish their pillows. I would like to make a table topper of your pumpkin/apple quilt squares and the strawberries.

  52. I have been working on a challenge quilt. Three friends swapped fabric & we had to make a quilt using it. I also took a quilt that a senior started & finished it for her

  53. Unfortunately, my mother is ill so I have traveled to her home to take care of her. I didn’t bring anything to work on but I bought an old quilt top at a flea market that needs some repair. I plan to work on that while I am here.

  54. I’ve made 2 Scrabble/crossword wall hangings for Christmas presents. Also making Kleenex holders for gifties at a retreat! Love, love your scissors & spool blocks :)

  55. As always, I am working on multiple projects! I have several slow-stitching projects – an EPP project, an applique quilt and an embroidery project. I am also working on piecing two quilts – a BOM from Fig Tree Quilts and a quilt for my son. And finally, I’m quilting a lap quilt I made a few years ago. Do you think I have enough projects?!! I love your spool and scissors quilt!

  56. I have been working on a Jelly Roll Twist pattern, which will be a chemo quilt for my aunt. It is made from my Mom’s fabric, which makes it extra special. It’s my first large quilt to make all on my own.

  57. I went through my project stash and found 14 quilt tops that are ready for quilting. (I know – I can’t believe it either! 😂) All they needed was backing fabric picked out and pieced. So far I have found fabric for 11 of them and have pieced 3. Once they are pieced, the plan is to pin baste and quilt them. After that I hope to make a habit of finishing a project before starting another, but we’ll see how that goes!

  58. So far this summer I’ve been working on Pat Sloan’s Summer Camp sew along. It’s great fun. Your Patterns for this fabric line are stunning!

  59. I’ve been working on two of Pat’s sew alongs, Summer Camp and Hello Birdie! Both are sew fun.

  60. I absolutely love your pattern Just Add Shortcake. I bought it months ago and have been looking forward to the sew along.

  61. Love all the ways you used Birdsong Fabric. The scissors and thread are darling! I’ve been working on finishing tops this summer. I have a couple of bindings to finish up before I get more completed. It’s been a nice feeling get the UFO’s finished.

Already planning on a new quilt design for my Nocturnal Gingiber fabrics. Thank you for the opportunity Wendy!

  63. Love your website, instagram and thank you for the binding info – I will definitely try it on the next quilt finish. This summer I have been working on several small ( throw and crib size) quilts. One I call Paisley Prams, and 2 quilts from a pink and brown floral fabric family that I have held onto for years before using. I have also been working on Roadside Harvest quilt, a Sunflower Seeds quilt and Sweet Dreams sew along, and I’ve been designing a train quilt for my cousin. Been busy but I’m getting closer to some finishes. Yay

  64. I’ve been working on redoing my quilting room. I’m making great progress with it. When I’m tired of working on it I take a break to work on the Heart Felt Quilt Along pattern and a coffee themed table topper for my mom.
I love your Scissors and Spools pattern! I’ve added it to my project list to make!

  65. A friend gifted me a quilt shoe started called Bento pattern by the Gourmet Quilter this is all appliqué all Japanese themed. Quilt as you go I am about 90% done I work on it between other projects but hope to be done this month.

  66. My husband just retired in January and has been building a small cabin on our property about a mile from our house on top of a mountain. I’ve been making a Log Cabin quilt for him made from leftover batik scraps I had, alot from a box you sent me years ago. I have held on to every small scrap and can’t bear to throw any of them away, no matter how small they are! Thanks for the chance to win…this is a lovely collection from Pat…the thread alone is just gorgeous! Blessings…

Spent a good bit of time decluttering and organizing my fabric stash and patterns.

  79. After finishing my 100 pillowcases for charity I been sewing beautiful blocks for my Norfolk Sampler quilt. Maybe you’re familiar with it? Hahaha A few shorts for the grandkids and trying to keep up with the other two year long SAL that I signed up for. Thanks Wendy for your inspiration and keeping me going!

  80. I have been working on a 3-D type quilt for my son to take to college with him this fall. It’s the first one of this type I have made. And though it has been challenging, it has also been a lot of fun!

  81. So many projects! Besides restoring some treadle sewing machines, I’ve been making a modern quilt for my sister’s daughter-in-law, and memorial t-shirt quilt for a dear sister who lost her son, and our church group has been busy making a simple kit quilt, which will be donated soon. These things keep me out of trouble (mostly) and keep me out of the heat.
Thank you for all your inspiring posts!

  82. I just finished a doll quilt I made for my aunt who helped me take care of my mom when she had cancer. My aunt was my rock after my mom passed and actually got me to quilting after my mom passed. She absolutely loved it! I am starting a baby quilt for my cousin using the same doll pattern! Love all your beautiful designs!

  83. My quilt guild is finally having a quilt show this weekend after a 3 year absence. I’ve been sewing hanging sleeves on my quilts to display including my Stomping Grounds quilt. It is so cute done in pink and orange prints. Thanks for the pattern.

  84. I love the scissor and spool quilt! My current summer project is a quilr and outfit for our 6 month old great granddaughter Savannah.

  85. That pattern is so pretty, in any collection. I’ve been working on my catalog quilts for Island Batik and quilting for customers. Spoke to my guild members about the focus group for Norfolk Sampler and will send out an email with information next week. Thanks.

  86. HI – I have been finishing up two quilts – one is Jessica Dayton’s 6 inch squares so along – yes I am behind… and the other is a quilt for my friend. 89. I have been working to finish up some quilting UFO’s. Of course, I also felt the need to start something new so I am making a bag with cork fabric and learning new skills!

  90. The Scissors and Spools quilt is just so fun! You are such a creative gal! This summer I have been juggling 3 quilts, working in rotation to further them all along.

  91. I finished the top for a mystery QAL that I should have finished in November 2021 ;) and I am now working on a small quilt for my cat and another for a bed.

  92. I have been machine quilting on a top I pieced in 2018. One more off the UFO pile. I’ve been drooling on Pat’s blue birds!

  95. Ok, love the new take on a “Spools” block! This summer has been about adding to my Red, White & Blue quilts for decorating purposes and working on a top to use for Angela Walter’s latest FMQ challenge. There should have been work on the WIPS in progress before the summer started but you know how that goes, LOL!! Also been following you and Susan Ache’s cross stitch adventures — lovely work by both of you!

  96. Scissors and spools quilt is awesome. I am currently working on a quilt for my 5 yr old granddaughter and also the Secret Lives of Color with Pat’s sew-along.

  97. I love your work, Wendy! I was so inspired when you came to present at our guild meeting several years ago! This summer I have been sewing boutique items for our guild’s show coming up in the Fall.

  98. You design the cutest quilts. Thank you for that. I’ve been sewing quilts, bowl cozies, iPhone/iPad stands – either for a local hospice program or for our annual craft sale to support our program. Lots of fun.

  99. Love your designs , I’ve been working on pat sloans summer camp , plus art of the home clubs many projects , and trying to figure out my q frame

  100. Hi there! I have been working on Graduation quilts for my two granddaughters. Stomping Grounds using U of A fabrics for my granddaughter graduating from The University of Alabama and some fun cosmetology blocks for my other granddaughter graduating from Cosmetology school. I would most definitely make your Scissors and Spools quilt. I love your patterns. I made my daughter your Dogs in Sweaters quilt for Christmas last year. Thanks for your wonderful designs!

    • I just realized you didn’t do Dogs in Sweaters. 🫣 But the idea I was trying to get across was that I love figural blocks! Sorry! I’m embarrassed. But I love your designs!! Thank you!

  101. Today I’m hand binding a bespoke king size quilt for a friend. A version of Nature Walk in the blue Bird Song color way is on my design wall waiting patiently while I hand sew. It’s eager to be quilted & sending me ideas for motifs to fill the spaces between the star points.

  102. Love the colors of these fabrics. I’m working on finishing a charity quilt while gathering the fabric for a graduation quilt for the daughter of a friend.

  103. I love your work! I have been making lap quilts and baby quilts this summer. Thank you for participating in the tour!

  104. Summer is a very busy time for me, so my quilting becomes a bit less. The one project I have been working on is a cat inspired original that will be for my mom. I am hoping that it will give her a giggle each time she sits under it.

  105. Your spool quilt with the scissors is so adorable!! I love it 😍 This summer I have been working on several projects: Ruby Star Society gingham quilt, Boo Crew, Nature Walk with Pat Sloans Bird Song Fabric, FQS Liberty Box quilt, along with my BOM projects from Sherri McConnell, FQS, MSQ, Eria Ardnt, Be My Nieghbor blocks with Pat and Hoffman Celebrate the Season panels monthly. AND beginning Friday I will be sewing along with Pat for the Tantalizing Table Topper Quilt – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to make quilts.

  108. This summer I will be working on Pat Sloan’s Summer Camp & a Cobweb selvedge quilt & a baby quilt. Your quilts are lovely. Perfect for summer

  109. I love the new Bird Song fabrics. I’ve been working on a big king, cover for our bed. Using the Fractions pattern.

  110. This summer I have been sewing on my BFF quilt, which I designed long distance with EQ with my BFF who lives 7 hours away. The blocks represent our lifelong friendship! Your spool and scissors would be a great companion for it.

  111. Pat Sloan’s fabrics and sew alongs are great fun! I’m sewing “Secret Lives of Color” and just finished a wall hanging using her Ukrainian Star pattern. I’m also making exchange blocks for 10 friends…thanks for joining the tour-I love your patterns and did the “Elephant Stomp “for my granddaughter.

  112. I retired in April, so I have been spending lots of time in my sewing room! My current WIP is using embroidered vintage linens in quilt blocks to make a wall hanging.

  113. This summer I have been keeping up with a block of the month project and Pat’s Secret Lives of Color quilt. I really like the spools quilt.

  114. Such a cute spool and scissors quilt! The spools really caught my eye because my quilting group has been doing a BOM which has been teaching the new quilters (like me!) some new skills. The blocks will be set into spools. So I’ve been working on that. I just finished a bargello and am now preparing to make another gift quilt. Thanks for your part in the Bird Song tour, Wendy!

  115. I have been working on a hand sewing project this summer. So small and easy to take along with me on a plane ride or out in the yard. Love your quilts with Pat’s bird song fabrics, So pretty.

  116. Love your Scissors and Spools quilt. I’ve been working on Pat Sloan’ s Camp quilt along; making pillow cases for a local charity and quilting some UFO’s.

  117. I have been working on UFOs for a challenge in my local quilt guild and for fun/relief I am working on the Summer Mystery by Laundry Basket Quilts.

  118. This is a very different and unique pattern. Love it? I’m working on a few different quilts that were started awhile back. 2021 mystery quilt of the month thru fat quarter shop and bright side quilt also from fat quarter shop. I got behind due to a broken leg.

  119. I’m making a real effort to plow through some of my UFOs. I have discovered over the years that I really like making the blocks, but stall when it comes to putting them all together. 276. Hi, what a novel quilt, I adore it, I’ve never seen a quilt with a spool and scissors in a block together before, and Pat’s fabrics are perfect for your design. I really like your illeptical quilt block too, very interesting with lots of movement. Thanks for sharing your time and talent. Diana (Dee)

  277. Spool and scissors…how appropriate! Just finished a baby quilt for our latest little grandchild. I am making quilts for all my grandchildren….only 3 more to go! I collect fabric…but I guess that is a trait of all quilters!!

  278. The main things I worked on and finished this summer were a king sized quilt for my daughter and I finally got my last Bonnie Hunter project quilted. Yeah!!

  279. Your Scissors and SPools quilt is as cute as anything, and I love the background fabric. I really love the ELliptical quilt. Just too cool for school! My 6-year-old granddaughter and I are sewing a “baby” quilt made up of squares of Dr. Suess fabrics. It is slow, but she is having a ball. I really enjoyed your Fabric Tour. I was introduced to Pat Sloane through Bonnie Hunter’s Quiltville blog, and I am so happy to have found you. T

  280. I love your scissors and spools pattern! I’ve been following your numerous patterns in magazines for the last decade (?) or so and love them . I have a kit of your Northstar pattern on my shelf waiting to be sewen!

  283. We have 7 grand children, 5 and under that keep me pretty busy, LOL. I have been busy with 2 baby quilts for new grandsons, dresses for the 2 grand daughters and reading pillows for the 5 older ones. Have a quilt for my bed I’ve been working on between projects. I need to make a new wall hanging for the family room.

  284. After trying to post my comment several times and not having it post, I am once again trying. I seem to be getting stuck at a long in page for WordPress. No matter how many times I change my password it won’t let me log in and my comment does not post. So…..once again I’ll try to comment: I really do love how you used Pat’s new Bird Song line in the Spools and Scissors quilt. So cute! I have been coasting a little in the sewing room this summer doing some necessary things that are not related to quilting or sewing but will be jumping in to work on some new projects that have sparked my interest. Sometimes a break is needed to start up again! Thanks for sharing your projects with us and inspiring us to use our creativity!

  285. I like what you shared with the fabric. I’m having a good summer of sewing, one quilt for my son finished and in rotation, two other quilt tops finished and a third project cut out.

  286. I have made a baseball quilt for my grandson. Finishing a Flag quilt as a Quilt of Valor for a great nephew. Also have cut out your Just add shortcake pattern for Pat’s sew-along. Busy sewing.

    Thx for the great patterns.

  287. It’s been fun following along! Thanks for all the hard work! I’ve worked on a PP quilt for my daughter and son-in-law, plus I made the binding and put it on our guild’s quilt that we’re raffling off at our quilt show in October. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  288. I have made 2 bright neon lap size quilts for twin 10 year old boys, whos home was destroyed in a fire. I already had a completed lap quilt that I gave to the parents. Thankfully, they were not at home at the time of the fire, so they are safe.

  289. I have been cutting my scraps up into some standard sizes to make them more user-friendly. Some pieces smaller than fat quarters, but having interesting design, I’m using for hot pads, mug rugs, or backing for same.

  290. Love your patterns, the Elliptical is my favorite with Pat’s fabric, I will be looking at getting that pattern in the near future.

  292. I have been sewing a patchwork bird quilt, my long term scrappy four patch blocks, and some fishing-themed placemats.

  293. Oh Wendy – all of your work is gorgeous…you allowed Pat Sloan’s “Bird Song” to sing! I have tried to perfect you small Ohio stars…time will tell on that. I have used that block on a Christmas quilt. You are so encouraging about the domestic machine quilting…still working on that too!

  298. I have been working on 3 planned quilt projects. I am pretty pleased that I am making go progress especially during the summer. Love your spool & scissors quilt and would love to make this too. Thanks for sharing,

  299. What a great quilt to put up in a quilting or sewing studio. I’ve moved and haven’t set up my studio yet, but I do meet with a group on Mondays to quilt and chat. I found a UFO from long ago – paper pieced pineapple blocks in Christmas fabrics – which is a perfect project to work on while gossiping with the others.

  300. What a fabulous quilt – Those cute spools are hard to beat! I have a couple picnic tumbler quilts that I need to finish up before end of month! Yikes! Thank you!
