Hello Friends, I hope your week got off a stupendous start! It’s time for our 2-cent Tuesday again! I have another short one for you!
You know how when we make the half-square-triangles, we are supposed to draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the starting squares?
If you have a lot of staring squares on which you need to draw diagonal lines, here is what you can do. You can gather a stack of 4 or 5 squares, and then, use the iron to press a diagonal crease on the stack. Then, it’s like having 4 or 5 squares with the diagonal line already “drawn” with one press. Much faster that way.
I always cut my starting squares at least 1/8-1/4″ larger than the required size. I trim my HST units to size so that I always have squared up HST units.
If you are looking for a quick HST project — my Tisket, Tasket, Basket throw pillow pattern is in Quilters World’s Summer 2021 issue.
And if you would like to make more blocks for a quilt, I have mocked up two layouts for you!
And that’s my 2-cents for today for HST units — now it’s your turn! Thank you for stopping by, Happy Quilting!
