Twilight Trellis in McCALL’S QUILTING (September/October 2015)

Hello Friends, I hope you have had a blessed Thanksgiving weekend!  I took a few days off to spend with my little family, and we had a sweet time together.  I told you I would be doing photo shoots of my featured magazine quilts after my most recent trip, and I had been.  First up, we have Twilight Trellis that was featured in the September/October 2015 issue of McCall’s Quilting.

I love this quilt!  It is made with Chambray Rose fabrics from Windham.

A big reason I love this quilt is because it is a simple-to-construct quilt, and the secondary design turns up a few Sawtooth Stars.  You know how I just adore Sawtooth Stars!  You may click here and here to check out my quest for ways of using Sawtooth Star blocks in my designs.

You may purchase the exclusive quilt kit here.

Another reason why I love this quilt is the use of stripes in the design.

I was happy to have the help of sample maker Jennifer Green to piece the quilt top for me, and quilter Sheri Zalar to quilt the quilt.  As much as I try to make all my featured quilts, I am glad there are quilt angels out there to make my quilts happen when I am pressed for time.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing Twilight Trellis!  It’s been an absolute honor and pleasure to be able to share my designs with you!!  Here is a sneak peek of more magazine quilts I will be sharing with you… you did notice the quilt on the left has Sawtooth Stars, yes? :)

For the first time, life is taking on a more normal routine since Fall Quilt Market in Houston.  I am cherishing the normals in my life at the moment.  I know I still owe you an announcement of the winner of a giveaway I hosted quite a few weeks ago.  I haven’t forgotten – I hope to get to it before the week ends.  And with that,  I bid you adios for now!  Till next time – Happy Monday and Happy Week to you all! p.s.  Can you believe there are still leaves on the trees?

  1. I just love your Twilight Trellis! I’m quite partial to stars of any kind on my quilts, also. Thanks for showing the back…the quilting has such luscious movement! Can’t wait until I have the time to actually quilt some of my tops…maybe in the spring! Stay warm and enjoy the Holidays!

  2. I loved this quilt when I saw it in my September/October issue of McCall’s, but I am liking it even more seeing the additional photos. Definitely a beauty. Lucky you to have such pretty leaves, ours seem to have disappeared in our neighborhood. Glad that your Thanksgiving was a happy one. Ours was fun but rather chilly in WI. On to my second phase of stitching holiday gifts……… I better get with it!

  3. What a lovely pattern. I do like stripes in a quilt. Thank you for showing us your beautiful work, and sharing so many links to patterns you have created. I hope your holiday was lovely, and full of fun with your family.

  4. Especially love how the “Trellis” design utilizes sashings of varying/alternating vertical widths. Stars of any kind seem to appeal to me and this one is such a soft ‘look’. Beautiful!!! And your crew of “elves” are to be congratulated, too!!!! Sending hugs to all……………………
