Joy of Needle and Thread: Part 7

Happy Monday, Dear Friends!  This week marks the first week Miss Baby and I are back to a 24-7 arrangement — because school is out for the summer!  Due to my workload and summer plans, I am not sure how available I will be… but I will try!  Please bear with me if I disappear for a long period of time.

I thought I shall kick off the summer by sharing with you what Miss Baby stitched for her teacher before school ended.  I am so convinced only my six year old has the time to stitch for leisure these days…

And Mom is dismally lacking in the finishing department…. because it seems like all Mom can make are hanging pillow ornaments.  So, Mom made the latest stitched piece into a hanging ornament… yet another one!

Me thinks Mom needs help in the creative department in finishing stitched pieces… don’t you?

That’s all for now, Dear Friends.  Miss Baby has started her next piece – one we hope we can enter in next year’s Woodlawn Needlework Show.  I am a bit doubtful on this next project because there is a marked jump in difficulty level, but I am the last person to dissuade her from a difficult project…. considering with no experience at all or whatsoever, my first quilt was a pieced and applique quilt (story here)!  So, this next stitching project of Miss Baby ought to be interesting…. stay tuned. :)

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a lovely week ahead!

  1. Wendy… you both do wonderful and inspirational work! Tell Miss Baby it is lovely! May you both have a wonderful stitchery summer.

  2. The cross stitch created by Miss Baby is awesome. Wendy, what you stitched around it is lovely. I am positive that Miss Baby’s teacher will treasure it always. You two are a great team; you both do beautiful stitching. I’m anxious to see what summer holds for each of you!!

  3. Both the stitching and the pillow are beautiful!! I imagine her teacher was thrilled & will remember her for years.

  4. Wendy, your hanging pillow ornament is the perfect display piece for Miss Baby’s needlework. What a great gift for teacher!

  5. What a wonderful treasure for Miss Baby’s teacher. As a teacher, I cherish anything my students make for me. I am so inspired! My little grand niece has been asking me to teach her how to sew, and we will have to arrange a visit this summer. I hope you have a wonderful summer.

  6. I think Momma Wendy is being too hard on herself…it’s a beautiful way to display Miss Baby’s BEAUTIFUL stitchery…..It’s portable, easily displayed and will be easy to store to return to little Miss G someday when she’s famous like her momma. I know you are so proud of her. Thank you so much for sharing these precious moments with us. Blessings….kathy
