Autumn Comfort: Sneak Peek

Hello Friends, here is peek of another finished project!

IMG_9435

I have traditionally used quite a bit of neutral (white, cream and gray) in my designs for contrast. For Autumn Comfort, I experimented with not using any white or cream at all!  I have to say it’s nice to get out of one’s box and do something totally different and expected — because the result was (in this case) unexpectedly pleasing as well!

I also experimented with my Sand Dunes background quilting to go with feather quilting in this project.  More about that tomorrow — so remember to come back for a seriously overdue Thread Talk post!

So, what are you working on today?  Thanks for stopping by.  I shall catch up with you later. Ciao!

  1. I’m sewing some strip blocks using scraps of Christmas fabrics and hoping I can get out of this house today or tomorrow. Have about 2″ of snow on top of lots of sleet. Many businesses are closed or opening later and temp now of only 16. But the sun is out and it’s pretty!

  2. The colors are yummy and cozy……just what’s needed these days!!! The feather swirl is so nice and more casual than the usual more formal style. Your “rendition” is lovely and would fit perfectly on an upcoming client’s quilt!!!!! Will do a “bookmark/Pinterest pin” on this one!!!!

  3. The quilting looks like Wendy, but the fabrics……..hmmmmm. I’m anxious to see this one in its entirety.

Cold and icy in my neck of the woods…… We are definitely housebound. A great day for quilting. I will work on a 15 month BOM then on to a Civil War Challenge for my Guild. Love these kinds of days!!!

  4. Gorgeous quilting, as always, Wendy. Thanks for the sneak peak. After work today, I’ll be piecing a challenge quilt for my guild show, which is due in 3 short weeks.

  5. Love that combination! I decided this afternoon was going to be a rest day (except for caring for great-grandma, doing laundry, and starting dinner – moms can’t have total rest days. :) ) But I did catch up on a couple of episodes of Downton Abbey and enjoyed the down time. It has been a busy few weeks and it was good to just sit for a while..

  6. Beautiful sneak peek Wendy, love the quilting.
I finished my grandsons quilt for his 3rd birthday today, one more ufo off the list.
Looking forward to your Thread talk post.

  7. I seriously like the peak at Autumn Comfort. As always your quilting is beautiful. Karen A.
