Quilty THIS or THAT #2

… well, more like this, this, this, or that for this round of Quilty THIS or THAT!  The question for this THIS or THAT round is runner, baby, throw or bed?  What size of quilted projects do you like or usually make?

Runner (or Banner)?

  1. I actually make all sizes. I just finished a lap size (or small twin bed size), started a table runner, and need to quilt a baby quilt and a wall hanging. I’m not sure which I make more often. I haven’t really counted! Have a wonderful week!

  2. Mostly I make wall quilts, baby quilts, and throws. Though I like bed quilts, I’ve only ever made two. Just too big a project!

  3. I’m finishing a queen size quilt–putting on the sleeve. . .but, earlier this week, I completed three table runners for our charity group. Next up, a miniature quilt. . .guess, I just need to keep sewing something!! :)

  4. I make all sizes but like to make throws and wall hanging the best. I get bored with what I’m working on once I can see the majority of it so keep to the smaller projects so I can finish them and start on the next one.

  5. Banners and throws. Some I make for competitions, and a throw is about the largest my design wall can handle–hence, the largest I can handle. All these years, a never a bed quilt.

  6. My quilts fall mostly into the baby/lap or throw size. Since I hand quilt, the bed sized ones are bulkier than I like to handle.

  7. Really enjoy seeing your quilts! Mostly I make baby/child size quilts and lap/throw size. Donation quilts. Occasionally a table runner for my home, it has been quite a while since I made a full bed size quilt. Slow down a wee bit and breathe :) :) . Blessings, Karen Arbaugh

  8. I make mostly wall hangings, quilts a little larger than lap top. I also love making memory quilts from out grown childrens clothing. I made both my daughter and my self a large one fro my grandsons out grown clothes and two nine by six feet for a close friend. They are so much fun to do. I have made several baby quilts but my favorite are the memory quilts. I leave the clothing in tact as much as I can and the little girls quilts are the most fun using every thing from pretty dresses, pajamas and even the fancy panties and socks. My most recent project was table toppers for my sister and her two daughters from aprons their grandmother had made.

  9. I usually make bed quilts, t-shirt quilts for nieces and nephews heading off to college and baby quilts. I’ve made baby quilts for nieces and nephews born after 2000. That’s when I started quilting. I’m making t-shirt quilts for the older ones that are/were still in high school. I’m on my 4th one. I’ll have 2 to do next year. Then 5 more before the ones born after 2000. My 2 adult nephews got bed quilts. I have 19 nieces and nephews, 2 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew. Bed quilts are what I usually make. Maybe I should make pillows!

  10. I usually make smaller size items though I just finished a double size top which will be quilted by someone else on a long arm. I do a lot of lap size quilts for the veterans hospital and I do quilt those myself. If you want to know my favorite, it is wall hanging size.

  11. I definitely fall into the bed quilt category. I’ll make a baby quilt as a gift every now and then, but have always figured if I’m going to spend time planning and cutting, I might as well make it big enough for a bed! I seem to also get talked into doing at least one block-of-the-month every year, and they are always BIG!!

  12. Hi, I really like the quilt with the colored sashing and squares in the 4 corners. Can you tell me what fabric line that is? Thanks somuch

  13. Hi! I follow you and love your quilts. I make a lot of bed size quilts, twin or queen size. But a love making everything else too, table runners, baby or lap quilts depending on the recipient. I make throw pillows too. I never do The same quilt but like to try out different styles and patterns. I machine quilt on my home machine but I’d like to try out a long arm machine at a shop that rents out time on their machines.

  14. I usually make large bed size quilts, but need to make a baby one next. Absolutely love the zig zaggy elephant one above. Where is that pattern featured? Thanks!

  15. I make all sizes, it depends on my mood and the amount of time I have. Heard you on Pat Sloan’s radio show and I will listen to this again!! I love that I can put a voice to your face!! Life takes funny turns doesn’t it? Loved hearing about your quilt “journey” You are an inspiration to us all!!

  16. Throw! I like getting it done and over to the recipient. Large bed coverings go on and on, but a throw is a reasonable length of time out of my schedule.

  22. I make table runners, table toppers, and wall hangings. I have made a baby quilt but never tried a regular bed quilt just yet. But I will get there someday.

  26. In the past I have rather made an equal number of banners and table runners. With bed quilts it would have to be queen sized. I have made myself a vow at the end of this year, after I get a couple of quilts finished for hubby and I and a couple of quilts for some family members who have been waiting for quite some time…I am going to start making a lot smaller projects from now on! LOL…wonder if I will actually be able to do it!
