Christmastide in FONS & PORTER’S EASY QUILTS (Winter 2013)

EQ130037

Hello Friends, I have been waiting for my Christmastide table topper, featured in Fons & Porter’s Easy Quilts Winter 2013, to return to me from the editor.  Christmastide will be my second last Christmas project I am sharing with you for 2013.

This table topper uses the concept of adding fabrics to a single block to make a full quilt, making the block the focus of one’s visual attention.

The fabrics I used for the project are from RJR‘s Claridge Manor.  The elegant foliage and berry print fabrics are my favorites.

Quilting is done free-motion using Aurifil Mako Cotton 50 threads over Hobbs Tuscany Silk batting.

  1. I see more pebbles!!! Aren’t they the greatest?????!!!!! I’m using them more and more for filler/accent, too. This is the most gorgeous fabric. I’m going to a couple of quilt shops the end of this week and hope to come across some of it!! Your piecing is a beautiful pattern for this fabric. Hugs…..SSAB

  2. Your table topper is gorgeous. Love the fabrics and your quilting is amazing! I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing such a lovely project.

    • I have been following this website for some time now and I really like the changes you have made to this blog. Funny thing I thought I knew what I was talking about before seeing your site but it turns out I am a dummy. Very nice writeup. You really should be thanked way more often than you are.

  3. How oh how did I miss this post? This quilt is just beautiful Wendy. Love the design, the colors AND the quilting. And the best part for me is the “easy” piecing… Love it! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful designs with us. Hugs, Karen
