“To Australia with love” COVER QUILT Alert: Farm Crossing in Australian Quilters Companion

QUC064_Cover

Hello Friends, I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!  I just have to share with you a piece of exciting news.  My first design Farm Crossing, submitted to Australia with love, made cover of the latest issue (No. 64) of Australian Quilters Companion!

The schematic of the quilt design is shown in the following:

Farm Crossing

I designed Farm Crossing with Lynette Anderson‘s Mending Fences collection, released by Lecien.  Didn’t I tell you my “Lynette Anderson” adventure continues?

I actually don’t have the actual quilt with me, as the sample was made and remains in Australia.  But Lynette graciously sent me the following photos of the quilt.  Enjoy!

You may recall I had shared with you a couple of months ago County Stars, a free to use pattern designed with the same Mending Fences fabrics.  Click here for information on how to download the pattern, as well as information on Lynette Anderson’s additional projects, designed with the same fabric line.

I hope you have enjoyed Farm Crossing (version 1).  Incidentally, I have another Farm Crossing (version 2) quilt featured in a current American publication that I will share with you later this week.  Come back for details.  Meanwhile, I hope you have had a lovely start to the month of December!

Curious mind wants to know if you are an Australian Quilters Companion subscriber.  I had a hard time locating US stockists of the magazine.  If any of you know where one can purchase the magazine in the US, would you please leave the information in the comment section?

  1. Wonderful news. Brilliant quilt, definitely worthy for a cover. Congratulations.

I hope these magazines realize that you truly help sell issues. I’m definitely going to track down a copy of this issue, just because you are on the cover (and, of course, it is a beautiful design that looks like it would be fun to make).

    Great job Wendy.

  2. Congratulations!!!! It is a beautiful quilt, definitely worthy to be on the cover. Wendy, your work is exquisite, and as always, an inspiration. No, I am not a subscriber. So I, too, am going to track down a copy of this issue.

  3. what a lovely quilt and congratulations on having it published, also congratulations on your second one too. Love Lyn`s fabrics but they are oh so expensive here in the UK, was looking at them at a show last weekend and wanted them all, .

  4. I am absolutely THRILLED for you!!! Woot! Woot! Yay!

Congratulations and what a wonderful quilt! You never cease to amaze me, Wendy.

  5. How wonderful to get your quilt on the cover of an out of the States magazine. I think I have only seen this quilt at a book store in a larger city. Congratulations!!

  6. Congratulations, Wendy! My best luck finding international quilting magazines has been the newsstand at Barnes & Noble book sellers.

Can I ask about your process for designing your beautiful quilts? Do you use a design software like EQ, paper and pencil, or just start cutting and sewing and make it up as you go along? I’ve been looking at EQ7 but I don’t know if it would help me design — and MAKE — better quilts, or if it would just suck up hours and hours of time learning the software so I’d have less time to make anything at all.

  7. Such fun fabric and what a nice way to showcase it. I love that your big blocks are not “all the same” but instead really show the full fabric. I like seeing it in the same print, but blue colorwave on the border. Congratulations on another cover! Exciting to go into the world market!
