Riley Blake Unite: Sneak Peek #1

Hello Friends,

I have been buried under these fabrics the last few days, just piecing away!  I am making a scrap quilt using only … you guessed it, Riley Blake Designs fabrics.  How do you like my not-so-subtle hint with using the Riley Blake Designs ribbon to tie around the rather ugly shoestring hanging loops?  It’s definitely an effort to see if I can trot out just one more Riley Blake piece of fabric to add to the quilt!  Riley Blake fabrics = happiness — so, it is another happy quilt in the making.

Miss Baby already claimed this quilt.

She has good reasons though.  I had to borrow her hand painted birdhouses as props.  She had the most fun painting those birdhouses over the weekend, and has grand plans to add more to her collection.  If she keeps this up, I think I am going to make her a birdhouse quilt!

Thanks for stopping by.  I should have a couple more sneak peeks of my Riley Blake scrap quilt for you very soon.  Stay tuned.  Hugs to you all.

  1. I can’t wait to see the scrap quilt you make out of these happy fabrics! Please tell Miss Baby that I *love* her bird houses!

  2. You sure had fun with the photo shoot! Now I’m curious, wondering whether bird houses feature in this quilt or not. I was reminded of that birdie applique quilt that you made awhile back, with the tree and the baby birds taking flight for the first time… I hope to see more applique work from you, Wendy — you do it so well!

  3. I love these fabrics !!! They are going to make my kind of quilt. Miss Baby’s beautifully painted birdhouses are the perfect touch!

  4. I, too, loved the fabrics. very hip and modern. The birdhouses though, were adorable! Complete with little birdies. She is an artist just like her mommy!
    have a good day!

  5. Those fabrics are so darn cute, especially for a five year old — I take she has turned five by now. I know my five year old grandson would think there pretty cool. And your little girls birdhouses are just too sweet. She did an excellent job. Have a great day!

  6. No wonder Miss Baby has claimed the quilt being made out of those wonderfully cheerful fabrics!
I can’t wait to see the birdhouse quilt!
