Interlocking Sweetness: Final Sneak Peek

Hello Friends,  I cannot believe it’s already Friday!  This week has seen a  change in my routine — I am ramping up “school” for Miss Baby, and I am still adjusting to the change and demands in my schedule.  Compounded that with errands and deadlines, AND a more than usual needy child, I haven’t been able to get online very much this week.  Please forgive me…

I am in the process of wrapping up Interlocking Sweetness as I type.  I chose a mix and match approach in quilting this quilt – I have never mixed pebbles and McTavishing together.  I have seen it done, and decided to use this quilt as an experimenting opportunity.   I did quite a bit of concentration-intensive feather quilting for my last couple of quilts.  So, this free-flowing background quilting of pebbles and McTavishing is therapeutic for me.

The pink and green color scheme is always a refreshing and cheerful one, much like this knock-out rose bush at our local Target store.  Seeing this rose bush earlier brought a smile to my face.  I am learning from Ellen who takes her camera everywhere she goes. :)  Trust me, this amazing lady takes gorgeous pictures!

I also received three of my featured quilts back this week (yay!).  I will try to post at least one of them next week.  Do stay tuned for another smocked dress saga, and a couple of giveaways coming up!  Have a lovely weekend, dear Friends!  I will see you next Monday.

  1. Love the pink and greens! Of course quilting beautiful as usual!!! Like the idea of pebbles in the Mctavishing etc. and of course the swirls. Good job.

  2. It certainly is a beauty, Wendy. I can’t stop falling in love with your quilting. Send some of your talent my way, please.

  3. Love this quilt. It sure brings in thoughts of spring! The quilting is of course, super. I have tried to recently combine pebbles and ……….well something. It was not quiet the “s” but lines quilted close together. Including my link for you to have a look. http://grammaquilter.blogspot.ca/2012/04/freds-roses.html I like to look of the “s” better, i think. It is a bit more open. Fun to experiment eh!
    Have a great weekend!

  4. Hi! Wendy!
I am like you –I have been so busy I have not been on internet. We are almost done remodeling and leaving painting on the back burner for awhile. I love the colors of the quilt and never thought about taking camera in purse –what a good idea. Have a great weekend and do rest up a bit!

  5. what a beautiful quilt…your quilting amazes me……do you mark your quilts?? wow…wow..wow have a wonderful weekend! : – )

  6. You are “killing” us with your teasing!!!!! That coupling of pebbles and McTavishing works so well……fits so well with the floral theme! Look forward to next week’s posts. These are busy days. And, yes, I am trying to remember to carry my camera with me at all times. Quilt inspirations are everywhere!!! Hugs, Doreen

  7. Yes love what I see here, looking great, and I know Baby will be just fine, she will come home yakking all about her day at school too much fun I remember mine,,they were pretty good, take care there mommy Baby will be great, HUGS Cheers Jeanne xox

  8. Love the quilting, the piecing and the color combo!! We have Knockout Roses all around our home, and they’re a LOT of work – need deadheading daily, but, boy, are they worth it. They’re drought-tolerant, even hardy, and will even take some slight freezing without issue! And the more water they get, the more they bloom!!

Looking forward to seeing more of your lovelies!
