Good morning, Friends! Happy December! I want to also take the opportunity to welcome new friends sent here via Quilting Gallery’s Celebrate Christmas Quilt-Along. I hope you have had fun following the Quilt-Along.
Since my block is the last one in the series, I decided to offer a sort of “wrap-up” block:
You are definitely welcome to use your choices of fabrics. I have chosen gold, red, green and black for my block. Refer to the following image for sizes to cut. You are to cut:
1 red 4 1/4″ square
1 red 1 1/4″ square
1 green 8″ square
2 black 1 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ rectangles
2 black 1 1/4″ x 8″ rectangles
2 gold 4 1/4″ x 8″ rectangles
Here are my pieces cut out, ready to be sewn together:
Follow the sequence of images below to complete your block…

This block is a versatile block. I meant it that way because I thought the 7.5″ finished green square can be used to record all the particulars of your quilt, any Christmas messages or anything you wish to add for personalizing your quilt. I thought to further personalize the block, you could even print any pictures of your choice on the 8″ square to piece into the block. For the more adventurous, how about making an additional block that will be 7.5″ finished in size to piece in place of the green square? The possibilities are almost endless, don’t you think? ;)
I look forward to seeing your variation of my Christmas Memory Block. Please join me in giving a sweet and loud round of applause to Michele for hosting the Quilt-Along. I hope you have a blessed Christmas Season!

Clapping!!
You make the most beautiful quilts and your quilting is awesome….I am so glad I have found your blog.
Thanks for the present Wendy!!……….Merry Christmas
Wow! What a great block. I love how simple and yet striking it is.
I haven’t done applique yet, but the minute I saw this block I pictured an appliqued bow in the spot which all the pieces meet would be super cute I bet. Just like a little Christmas (or any holiday) present/gift.
Thank you so much.
thanks for a great last block
Perfect idea for the project :)
love the block..very simple but striking…
You must have some fabric stash!
I’m finally printing out the rest of the blocks for Michele’s Quilt-a-long. I really like this one and think I will make four of them as corner blocks for the quilt. Thanks!
