Different Looks: Final Sneak Peeks

Would you guess from looking at these pictures showing the quilting on the back,

all the blocks are the same in construction on the front?

For me personally, the actual quilting of quilts is the most fun thing about quilting.  Quilting infuses personality into quilts/quilt blocks!  This sort of reminds me of how they say even identical twins have different personalities!   Whether in people or quilts, the diversity in personalities certainly make life our world interesting, doesn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Monday, Everyone!

  1. Ohhhh, I wish you lived next door so I could come for a tea and drowl at all your quilts – oh and visit with you as well. I’d bring cookies over as well haha.

  2. Your quilting is amazing. It seems that sometimes I have a big bulk where everything meets….not as pretty as yours is. It is hard for me to come up with a design as well…any tips?

  3. What a thoughtful blog post. So many of us quilters automatically think that when we have lots of the same blocks it means doing lots of the same quilt design. Or if we stretch ourselves, we’ll quilt two different designs! I really appreciate your thoughts about having multiple quilting designs for one block. You obviously DO like quilting more than most quilters. I bet the majority of quilters are toppers. Good for you to be among the few, and generously sharing your perspective and designs with us. Thank you!

  4. Holy cow, those are amazingly quilted blocks! I would of never thought to quilt them differently, let alone know “What” to quilt! I really like how you explain your work and thoughts behind your decisions. It’s making me start to think outside the block.

  5. I sure wish I could quilt half as good as you do … I’m just going to have to bite the bullet and find a good teacher for one-on-one instruction. Living in a small town doesn’t help with the search! Can’t wait to see the finished quilt!

  6. I love how you have quilted each block differently. It adds such interest to a simple, but lovely block. You are such a wonderful machine quilter!

  7. Someday, in some alternate universe, I hope my machine quilting looks half as good on the FRONT of my quilts as yours does on the back! This is another beauty; this reminds me of a book I have somewhere entitled “Quilting Makes the Quilt” where the author made up several identical samples and then quilted them up totally differently to show how important the “quilt as desired” part is. Each of these blocks has it’s own sweet personality, and the variations make the whole quilt much more interesting. Bravo!

  8. It is absolutely gorgeous. The quilting really does bring life and excitement to the quilt. Your quilting is just fabulous. I love the little circles.
