For lack of a better name for this project… (I am terribly un-creative when it comes to naming my quilts), I am calling it Midsummer Night Garden. I am sure the name will be changed once the quilt reaches the editor, but I am perfectly okay with that. I am frantically busy getting these blocks to happen!
If you haven’t heard from me, it’s because I have been buried under work! I will catch up with you later. I might be super busy, but not busy enough to be nosy to want to find out what’s on your plate this week…. do tell me what’s keeping you busy this week. Till next time!
Now this really is quite a sneaky peak – it looks like it will be a gorgeous quilt… looking forward to seeing more!!
I’m intrigued, Wendy! Can’t wait to learn more about this quilt. :)
We’re busy finishing up our school year. The boys are working hard to finish their core classes by next Friday. LittleGirl will finish at the end of May.
I am working on a gift for a baby cousin, as well as a dress for me to wear to an event this weekend. I have monogramming to complete for a neighbor, and some napkins to finish for my family.
Happy Wednesday! :)
ooooo – I like the name!
Maybe Fragrant Connection LOL would be a good name I am seeing some kind of connection here. Hugs I am working on next years Easter wall quilt LOL a little late for this year and early for next. Bunny
Your quilt has a wonderfully fresh appearance. I can almost see the blossoms bending in the breeze and spreading their fragrance in the summer night.
I’m trying to finish a small cross body purse to take on vacation in May and work on a couple of quilts… one on the Bernina, one with a lot of hand embroidery and finally, my Hexagon quilt.
Not as creative as you, for sure, Wendy. But I have been ‘playin’ in the dirt for weeks now! On the rare nice days, I’m digging around outside ~ when it’s raining/snowing/hailing, I’m playin’ in the greenhouse/barn/chicken house. I’ve been cooped up in this house all winter and if Spring won’t come to me, I must go out to it!
I am longing for a Midsummer Night (in my) Garden! Love the name and the (sneek peek of the) quilt looks to have an exotic hint with those colors! So pretty! Will be on the lookout for more hints!
Blessings!
Wendy: I can’t wait to see more of this gorgeous quilt. You know I just have a thing for applique’ guilts.
We have a new puppy-a Standard Parti Poodle (mulit-color) gray and white. He is 9 weeks old and I have been so busy house training and crate training!!! Just really forgot how demanding a puppy can be.
I also need to try to finish an Easter wall hanging something I started before Easter and then got delayed with this puppy.
Happy Sewing –today–Blessings to you as always.
This one looks interesting Wendy. Enjoy coming up for air here and there! :0)

I love this sneak peek, Wendy! Looks so pretty!
I can imagine that you are busy with a new home and all of your quilting and Miss Baby. I know about busy, too. It’s been a whirlwind lately, but I came up for air for the wedding. Are you going to watch??? I wish you were here to come to lunch on Saturday. We’re celebrating then.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Well I sure do love it so far, Wendy! Can’t wait to see more!
Last night I pinned 36, 6 inch blocks together and marked then to sew by hand. I love to sew by hand. Have to cut out strips for each row–6 rows – for them. The blocks are a light high quality flannel like fabric I have had for years.
It is a gift for a young teen boy who was battered and abused by his mother all of his and then snapped 2 yrs ago and killed her. Was not premeditated -also shot his step father as he came home from work. Still have not learned if his stepfather intervened at any time. This kid no one to turn to, not even his maternal grandmother. She just did nothing.
Hope to take it to his hearing June 6, as he plea bargained. Do not believe his court appointed lawyers were up to this task. But, from what I have learned, John has a very caring judge. If he does get a snetence, hope it is lenient and he will be near me, in denver, so I can see him and mentor him.
He is getting excelent grades in high school and will go to college.
Please pray for John
Blessings.
Love the fabric!!
Helen
Love the colours and can’t wait to see what the finished quilt will look like. I’m about to quilt a quilt called “Fairyland Quilt” the design squares were machine embroidered and now it’s on the frame waiting to be quilted. hmmm next step is to actually do it – trying to get the nerve to try something other then stipple.
Beautiful sneak peak! I love the quilting on your last post, simpy gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the little tips.
Thanks to inspiration from you, I’m very busy machine quilting! I’ll have a couple of finishes to blog about this week… and I’m so proud of one of them – Glinda!
Looks like a beautiful garden; gorgeous and I can hardly wait to see it all.
Staying home this weekend to do some work in my garden. Not going anywhere near town–the Merrie Monarch Festival is on and it’ll be crowded with hula contestants and their families from everywhere, including Japan. I’ll watch that and the wedding on tv!
Have a nice weekend…
We wait and see, looks like it will be well worth the wait.
FMQ Challenge and family are keeping me in my place. That looks like beautiful fabric – looking forward to seeing more.
I love this already!
I’m intrigued! Want to see more of this one!
