Machine Embroidery: Soft Pink

This is a sneak peek of an heirloom pillow project I worked on for Creative Machine Embroidery.  The soft pink look conveys such a sweet sense of childhood innocence:

Here are some close-ups.  You would probably be surprised, but this was done on a piece of sheer Victorian batiste, on top of a cotton print quilt fabric (for a shadow textured effect), on top of a piece of heavy linen, and on top of a heat fusible tearaway stabilizer:

Thank you for popping by.  I always enjoy your visit.  Please leave me a comment so that I can visit you back.  Meanwhile, I wish you a sweet sweet day!

  1. Absolutely beautiful. I love it. I can’t wait to see the finished project. I’m also hoping you’ll write more to share more insights about this project (ME design mfg you used, how you planned your layout of designs on this project, etc.).

    I love it. Love, love, love it.

    You are doing a great job. Thanks for sharing.

  2. This is an absolutely beautiful . I love the shadow effect with the printed fabric behind the batiste fabric. The pink adds to the embroidery’s elegance. Nice job.

  3. Good Grief, girl, don’t you ever slow down?! Where do you get the energy to do all of this stuff ~ quilting,embroidery, smocking, sewing, flower arranging, weddings, tablescapes, wife and mommy ~ the list goes on and on! I am tired just writing it! God must have blessed you with an incredible metabolism!
    You are so very creative, Wendy, and everything you touch turns to gold! The machine embroidered pillow is enchanting!
    Wishing you a sweet day, too! ;~}

  4. This is so beautiful!!! I think that I’m going to have to get back to machine embroidery! I’ve been away from it for quite a while, but now seeing your beautiful piece makes me want to get back into it. I love the layering effect that you chose. Very pretty!
