Creative Machine Embroidery (May/June 2009) – please scroll down for new posts!

The new issue of Creative Machine Embroidery is out!

My cafe curtain project with a primitive Americana look is featured in the magazine:

The cafe tier window treatments are not hard to make, so you can quickly whip them up and jump right into some machine embroidery fun! :)

I don’t have a place to use these in my house, so I am using the bottom tier as a bed scarf. I added some lavender sprigs in a basket to add to the primitive country look. Doesn’t look too bad, does it?

Thanks for visiting. I hope my little project here gave you a lil’ bit of inspiration. Have a great weekend. I will see you Monday!

  1. Wow, congratulations, this is so pretty and to have it featured in the magazine. What great fun. I love to sew and mix and match fabrics, but I have never done machine embroidery. I just have a very simple portable sewing machine, so I think that won’t work. What a fun and pretty project. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my birds roaming around visiting friends. Yes that is a Lady Ascot jug that you saw. I found it at the GW. Can you believe that. Sometime the neatest things show up in the two that I visit. I’ve had a lot of fun rummaging through them. Again, I appreciate the visit. I hope you’ll stop by again. Hugs, Marty

  2. Congratulations! You’re published. That’s a big deal.
I’m just starting on my first quilt. It’s applique and I have 4 more patches to do till I can begin the edge stitch around the pieces. Then the piecing. .well you know. My Mom has been quilting since forever but I never got the bug till we went to a local quilt show and saw this pattern. It will be a table cloth so it’s not overwhelming for my first.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. If you check my older posts you will see the quilt Mom recently finished for our table. It’s a lovely log cabin. It’s so nice to meet you~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

  3. Beautiful stitchery (and I love the lavender)! My mother-in-law loves the Americana/primitive look in her bedroom. I’ll have to show her your work. =)

  4. It has been a long time since I’ve visited your blog too. I enjoyed getting reacquainted with your blog.

  5. I really like the patriotic star with the leaves coming out of it. I can’t quite say why, but it’s just so…likable! Maybe it has something to do w/ it’s simple, yet concise details. It also has an effect only reserved for un-colored drawing (you know what I mean?) In other words, you did a very nice job!

  6. Congratulations on being published. the curtains are different and very pretty. I love the embroidery touch. My daughter loves Americana decor and she would like those curtains. Nice job.
