Hi Friends, thanks again for stopping by. I was actually going to share with you a recent magazine featured quilt, but it is still a little too nippy for me to venture outside for some outdoor shots. But I really think the quilt deserves to be photographed outdoors. The sun is out today, but the blowing wind… maybe tomorrow.
For now, I will show you a sneak peek of what I’ve been working on…
Joan always comments how I work with tiny patches. While I don’t particularly enjoying piecing, I do have a penchant for coming up with designs with MANY tiny pieces (must be a disease) – like that one tiny white square there. Anyone cares to take a guess what the finished size that square is? Keep in mind I don’t make miniature quilts — so, a 1/4″ finished size for that square is automatically ruled out. :) The first correct guesser will receive a spool of my favorite piecing thread.
Thanks for stopping by. I shall chat with you again tomorrow.
Looks like a 11/2″ sq. to me. JH
I’m going with 1 1/4!
I think its 1 inch finished.
I’ll guess 2″.
I’ll guess 1.5 finished!
Three-quarters of an inch?
I’d almost bet it’s .75″ — and now I’m very curious about the whole design!
3/4″
1 inch
Looks like 3/4″ to me.
I think the little white square looks like 1 1/2 inches.
1 and 1/4 inch square!
I will guess that the size of the rectangle is .75″ x 1.25″. Hope I’m close!
Judy
Well, dang, I am the 4th one with this guess, so I won’t win, but I think it is 3/4″.
I can’t wait to see the whole thing.
I’m guessing 3/4″. You do a beautiful job with your piecing so you shouldn’t hate it so much.
I’m a duplicate, also…1″?
I guess 1 3/4 inch square
1 inch
It looks by 1 !/2 x 1 inch square.
I am going to say 1 1/4 by 1 1/2.
I’m guessing 1 x 1 1/4 – can’t wait to see the whole quilt…looks like something patriotic maybe??!!
2″?

I’m guessing 2″x1″
1.5 x 1.75?
3/4″?
Dang not first, grin.. Pretty sure it’s 3/4″ (can seen the seams and about an equal amount w/o seams). And I have to say I love your blog. Especially thread talk.
3/4 of an inch?
Has to be 3/4 inch square.
I would guess 1 inch.
think it might be around 2 inches . You certainly do beautiful work,,, so precise…
Well….3/4 inch was my initial thought but I’ll guess 7/8 inch just to say something different…..I don’t think I’ve ever used a 7/8 inch block… :)
Well imagine my surprise to see me mentioned there… and the funny thing is, that before I read what you had written about, I was looking at the piecing and thinking – Oh my goodness – Wendy has done it again :) I would say 1/2 inch, cause I know how small you go to at times.. I look forward to seeing the rest of this quilt to see how many small squares are in the total :)
That square looks to be a 1″ X 1.25″…. maybe..
I’m going with an 8 inch finished block. One inch for each of the whites and reds to complete the size. And, Wendy, the wind you are getting now is probably what we had 3 hours ago in northern Wisconsin. It just won’t quit blowing.
1 1/8 X 1 5/8 maybe
How about 1 1/8 x 7/8? It appears to be rectangular……..I’m visiting in TN, it’s cold here today. It is supposed to drop about 30 degrees tonight, maybe snow…
I’m going with 1 1/2″ square… seems to match the border around the red…Cant wait to hear what the actual size is!
I’d say it’s 3/4″ x 1/2″. Love your blog, Wendy!
I will guess 1 7/8″ square!
1.25 x 2.0 is my quess.
I think its finished size is 1.25 inches square
I’ll go with 7/8″, since I haven’t seen it mentioned yet.
1.5 x 1.0
