Hello Friends, I just came through a whirlwind — I had my day all planned out yesterday to have ample time to finish up Asian Mist for Quilt Market in Houston later this week, AND do a blog post. Miss Baby ended up having a bad night needing attnetion, and I ended up being called for babysitting duty at a Moms’ group. All my ample time just went up in smoke, and I was left scrambling trying to get the quilt completed. I am exhausted! Nonetheless I will show you a quick sneak peek:

I did have a rather humorous moment while quilting around the crane… I sort of inflicted casualty on its beak! Well, the crane wasn’t so humored by its wonky beak, and thus the beak was duly repaired!

The quilt will be displayed at Blank Quilting‘s booth during Market. I am not able to attend for obvious reason – Miss Baby! I am keeping my fingers crossed that the kind folks of Blank will take a picture of the display for me. Thanks for stopping by – have a lovely day!

Hi Wendy. sorry to hear Miss Baby is not well – get better soon.
Asian mist is beautiful – can’t wait to see it in all its glory. Gorgeous quilting and I like how you have not cut up the fabric too small so as to keep more of the pretty patterns intact. Great work!
Your quilt and the quilted circles look wonderful and it amazes me that you do it with so little doubling up on the thread! I’m sure there will be lots of photos of market where your quilt will be shown.
Wendy, it is gorgeous, but then, all of your quilts are.
I sure hope Miss Baby is doing better. I’m sorry she’s not feeling well. Hope she will be better soon and that her mother is doing okay, too.
Love you…
XO,
Sheila
This one seems very different, both in fabrics and style, but very pretty! Love the crane and the waves best. Hope Miss Baby has a better night tonight so Mama can get some much-needed rest.
May the power in your life give you the needed strength to get through all this.
So love that swan. The white against the blue is lovely.
Sorry I called that crane a swan! Forgive my error!
beautiful
I can’t wait to see the whole quilt! What you have shown is lovely. Hope baby feels better.
That Crane has a long way to fly for the show! Hope Miss Baby is feeling great soon!
Your quilting is beautiful as usual. I really like those Asian fabrics.
Heart be still…this peek is over the top! I gots to see the whole quilt!! And to think it’ll be in Houston!
Rough day for Mommy; rough night for Miss Baby. Hope Mommy had enough time to catch her breath and Miss Baby is better.
Hope Miss Baby is better soon, and you are able to get a lovely photo of the quilt! Happy crafting, Jenny
So pretty, Wendy! Can’t wait to see the quilt in it’s entirety. How do you set the tension when quilting curves? My tension is fine when I’m quilting straight lines, but starts to pull when I make a curved stitch. Any advice?
Thanks for sharing your quilt! Hope Miss Baby sleeps better for you tonight. Must be a growth spurt!
This is very pretty! I love the Oriental designs and culture! Thanks for bringing these culture to your side of the world!
Hope that at the time I am posting this Miss Baby is feeling better again. This one looks like it is a real beauty, I do hope they take pictures at market and allow you to post the full quilt. It will be a treat to see this one!
