Friends, I so appreciate you playing along with my guessing post yesterday. Some of you came up with really creative speculations! Great guesses, everyone!

But guess no more — Ellen got it right! It’s a piece (is that the right measure word?) of fossil. The huge slab of history graced the fossil room of the Natural History Museum. While I was skeptical of the supposed age of 265 million (or however million) years, I was immediately captured by the quilting possibility!

I was going to stitch out the pattern on a quilt sandwich to show you, but extra time has alluded me this week. Miss Baby has needed more than usual attention from me. So, come back next week… I will have my version of the “quilted fossil” for you, with schematics so that you can try it at home!
Meanwhile, it’s back to work I go. Have a safe weekend, Friends!
p.s. Please pray for safety and protection for my little family and the communities around us… we are expected to meet Irene in her glory this weekend.

Quilted fossil! Wow the mind boggles.
Have a fab weekend.
How creative.
Be safe…..
WOW and we are praying for you all… stay safe my friend.

Please follow whatever your officials tell you regarding the storm. I am a survivor of Hurricane Andrew and have seen it first hand. At 4pm on Sunday I was ordered to evacuate and we did 19 years ago. Thank God! My home was totally destroyed and a neighbor who didn’t, was gone. Stay safe and we are hoping that it will keep declining in strenght and nudge a little bit further away from the coast since they say there is no reason for it to move.
Can’t wait to see this stitched out! Stay safe through the storm.
Will be thinking about you as Irene hits land. Be safe. I Enjoy your post.
I will be praying for all of you in the path.
Sending my prayers for your safety during this storm.
Yes Wendy, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Living in Florida, we are always on the alert when TS or Hurricanes are in the forecast.
A fossil! pretty neat.
Praying for your safety. We are supposed to get 40 mile winds where we are at. Maybe some rain. We are in the center of the state so we are pretty safe.
Ha! So I guessed right…
Praying for you and others in the path of Irene…
Stay safe!
I never would have guessed. A fossil of what, I wonder?
Hope and pray you all are safe and that Irene doesn’t harm anyone.
Keep safe, and wrap yourself in your quilts. I’ll be praying everyone is safe and there will be minimal damage.
Amazing how many of us thought of sand & tracks..
Praying for your safety…
Blessings,
I never would have guessed a fossil! Won’t that be beautiful quilting! Leave it to you, Wendy, to see quilting in a fossil!
Praying for you and all those in Irene’s path.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Keep safe.
Wow, a fossil, how interesting!
You and yours have my prayers .
Inspiration is EVERYWHERE! I can’t wait to see! I am keeping you in my prayers sweetheart, please be safe and let us know as soon as you can!
