Okay, this is a really serious question! Curious mind wants to know, and there is no right or wrong answer here…. but how do you serve your sweet potato (yam) casserole for your Thanksgiving Dinner – with or without marshmallows? We like it without at the Ivory Spring household.

Without marshmallows but with brown sugar, pecans, & butter. Yummy!

Without! I don’t like my veggies Pimped! I bake the sweet potatoes, and slice them into rounds. We like the taste of veggies as they are – so I don’t add a lot of dressing / seasonings to them
Yummy! It doesn’t matter to me, I love everything you cooked – hmm.. except onions and “taugeh”.

Without…bake, then mash and put in casserole. Pan fry chopped hazelnuts with butter and brown sugar then pour over casserole and bake…Yummy!!

Well Im from Australia and when you put this question up about the sweet potato casserole served with marshmallows you got my tastebuds tingling…… I have never heard of this before but will be now looking for a recipe.
Sweet potato with, but then my kids only eat the marshmallows off the top, so it’s really marshmallows with sweet potato I guess and I get to eat the potato part and they get the roasted marshmallow part. I miss being a kid

I peel slice into 1″ rounds, put in crock pot with water to cover, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbs butter, a little nutmeg. Cook on low 3 hours or so.
Marshmello is for hot chocolate.
In the North we like sweet corn bread, unsweetend ice tea.
In the South they like unsweetened corn bread, sweet ice tea.
But we all love Turkey!

We try not to repeat something twice; therefore, this year the sweet potatoes will be wrapped in foil and baked, plain. They have been served about every way possible. All are good!
No marshmallows but lots of brown sugar, butter, salt & pepper. I’m one of the few in my family that actually like yams/sweet potatoes, so I make it the way that I like it!
I voted with, because if we had that, I’d definitely want it with. But we dont, and I don’t really like it, but I had to participate – LOLOLOL! Happy Thanksgiving – Gobble, Gobble!
