My weekday breakfasts are usually a spartan-style affair:

I am showing my spartan-style breakfast because I thought the red in the red plum matches my new needlework project:

I started this simple French rouge cross-stitch over the weekend because I needed a change of pace from my thread-change-intensive teddy bear project. This one uses just ONE color thread, as opposed to more than fifty different colors, and additional combinations among the colors used for the teddy bear cross-stitch. Plus, I have been hearing these French designs calling my name for quite a while now. I could not resist any longer…

My breakfast reading recently has been “English Stained Glass” by Painton Cowen, documenting the stained glass movement in the Middle Ages (10-14th century) in England. An educational and fascinating read:

I hope you have a wonderful Monday and new week ahead!
On those dishes dry toast would taste wonderful. I like your new French cross stitching. Pretty!
I know what you mean about having to change colors so often being tiring — especially when certain colors are only used for few stitches. It’s nice to have a bigger expanse of all one color sometimes.
The French cross stitch is going to be beautiful. I find it’s very restful to just use one color. Blessings, marlene
Beautiful project, I know it’s going to be lovely. I like reading while eating too, it must be the multi-tasking habit. I can’t read when I eat with my family though or I’d be anti-social, haha.
